Curator: Musée Courbet and Niklaus Manuel Güdel
The exhibition Courbet draftsman unveils an unknown part of the artistic practice of Gustave Courbet. Admired for his painting, respected for his sculptures; the artist's drawings are little considered by art historians even though it brings an original light to his work.
Around a corpus of some forty unpublished drawings from the former collection of the Geneva painter and engraver Emile Chambon, the exhibition focuses on rehabilitating the figure of a Courbet draftsman by giving an overview of his work graphic.
