The Chantilly Lace Museum presents a group exhibition in spring/summer 2026 on the theme "Arachnean," a term derived from the myth of Arachne in Greek mythology, evoking both the spider's web and the fineness of a network, the tension of the thread, the lightness of forms, and the patient weaving of life. "Arachnean" here refers to an artistic universe traversed by drawing, photography, and sculpture, in an approach where biology, a profusion of detail, organic motifs, and the delicacy of gesture intersect. This exhibition weaves connections between the materiality of the line and the lightness of the motif. Through works that oscillate between mythology and intimate narratives, natural science and graphic poetry, "Arachnean" is an invitation to explore the interconnections of life, the fragility of gesture, and the fundamental role of drawing as a matrix, imprint, or cartography of our perceptions.
