The painter and the territory

Curator: Niklaus Manuel Güdel, in collaboration with the Musée Courbet in Ornans

Set up on the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Gustave Courbet, one of the major artists of the 19th century, the exhibition aims to explore the notion of place in the artist's intimate geography and is interested in in particular to the role of Jura - French and Swiss - in his painting.

Under the high patronage of the French Embassy in Switzerland and the Republic and Canton of Jura.

In partnership with the Gustave Courbet Museum in Ornans and the Courbet Society in Geneva.
